Welcome to Altrusa of Lawrence, Kansas.

Altrusa is a club, or a group of Altrusa Clubs, with a classified, selective membership, composed of individuals who hold executive positions in diversified businesses and professions, or who own and operate their own businesses, or are practicing a profession. Membership is by invitation.

The Purpose of Altrusa is...
To afford a main channel through which executive and professional individuals representing a wide variety of occupational fields with similar civil and altruistic motivations can work together in common interests and effectively contribute their combined services to civic, national, and international understanding and betterment. To extend the field of friendships and contacts among professional individuals beyond the bounds of their own professional groups.


2012 WOMEN'S SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
A scholarship in the amount of $500 will be awarded to the selected candidate at an Altrusa meeting in May 2012.

To qualify for this scholarship, you must:
• Be enrolled in or accepted by an academic or
career training program
• Be working toward a career goal
• Demonstrate financial need
• Be recommended by an instructor/faculty member
• Reside in Lawrence or Douglas County

Your application materials must be postmarked by March 31, 2012. Return the completed application, along with:
1) a letter explaining why you think you should be considered for the scholarship; and
2) a letter of recommendation from an instructor or faculty member.
